nan Cifra: Tangled in Narratives
Composer and musician nan Cifra's performance Tangled in Narratives explores narrative as a tool for constructing reality and the ways it defines boundaries of meaning, shapes our identity and perception of the world. Collaborating with performer and choreographer Jitka Sara Pánikova and set designer and visual artist Jan Matýsek, another participant is the custom-built instrument Harpo: a reinterpretation of a harp transformed into a hybrid object with new sonic and aesthetic qualities. Its visual form is shaped by visual artist Magdalena Rybanská, while the backend is a collaboration between Natálie Pleváková and Antonín Gazda.
The project is co-financed by the governments of Czechia, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia through Visegrad Grants from the International Visegrad Fund. The mission of the fund is to advance ideas for sustainable regional cooperation in Central Europe.
