Kevin Blechdom was born in 1978 in Florida and grew up playing classical piano and writing notes on staff paper. She tried to take the piano seriously but found herself suffocating in a very conservative musical space, so she tried something else.

Kevin's first releases were with a band called Adult Rodeo which included her brother Rob Erickson and her sister-in-law Stephanie Mankins in Austin, Texas. She played keyboards in Adult Rodeo and began singing. There are currently 3 Adult Rodeo albums, two of the CDs are released on Shimmy Disc. Adult Rodeo toured the US and Europe with Kramer and Jad Fair.

At Mills College Kevy B. learned about computer music, began programming her own music software, and met Blevin Blectum (Bevin Kelley). One magical day, Kevin and Blevin were playing two solo sets before a Halloween party in 1998. At the exact moment when Kevin was fading OUT her music and Blevin was fading IN her music, they heard something they liked and finished the set together. Their first record was recorded that weekend and they named themselves bLectum from bLechdom. They played locally and threw unsanctioned parties in the basement of Mills College. Kevin bLechdom played live on her laptop with software she programmed in MAX/MSP and bLevin bLectum played music with her sampler. They would sync up by listening and not with MIDI; they prided themselves in being out-of-control and confusing. Sometimes they wore a costume that connected them together.

Kevin Blechdom released her first solo EP called The Inside Story on tigerbeat6 in September of 2001. This 3" CD contains music generated with software Kevy programmed in MAX/MSP. Her full-length record called Bitches Without Britches was released by Chicks on Speed Records in July of 2003. On this she sings and uses computers and banjo to create idiosyncratic and charmingly chaotic pop-electro-punk songs.
