UH Fest and SHAPE+ bring together six musicians for two Budapest residencies in April and introduces second wave artists

UH Fest – as one of the founding members of Shape Platform – returns in April with two non-festival events and residencies, inviting six artists. The festival's collaboration and curational work with Shape Platform* and the Creative Europe programme of the EU started in 2015 and continues as part of the SHAPE+ for the next three-year term. This new term also has a focus on residencies which connect international and local artists. As part of this joint venture, the two residencies, in each case two Hungary based artists working together with an international musician to create something new, and present their new work to the audience.

The first residency will have Tunisian sound artist and composer Rehab Hazgui teaming up with Emőke Domokos aka Emcsi and András Molnár aka The Stanley Maneuver, both performers of previous editions of UH Fest, and students of the Electronic Music and Media Art Department at the Pécs University. The presentation of their joint residency is on 1st April, 4PM at Budapest Jazz Club (Hollán Ernő u. 7., 1136). The admission for the event is free.

The second residency will have Ursula Sereghy, with a background in jazz, but recently a frequent collaborator at the Synth Library Prague. She teams up with Budapest based Esteban De La Torre of Ejtech, and experimental musician Orsolya Kaincz, member of Kamon Kardamom trio. Their presentation event is on 23rd April, at a venue to be announced later.

These two residencies introduce Orsolya Kaincz, Esteban De La Torre, Emcsi and The Stanley Maneuver as second wave artists of SHAPE+ 2022/23.
