NR/MA
NR/MA is a duo composed by Italian modular electronic artist Nicola Ratti and Japanese spoken word and sound poetry artist MA. Nicola Ratti produces the music whilst MA the lyrics and vocals. The duo is active since their first collaborative album Shinkai released in 2021 by WhereToNow? Shinkai heralds the first time Nicola Ratti has worked with a vocalist, and MA’s unique brand of ritualistic vocal methods and experimental approaches to intonation and inflexion only enhances Ratti’s otherworldly soundscapes.
Nicola Ratti is an artist of the SHAPE+ platform for innovative music and interdisciplinary art, co-funded by the European Union.
